This post is dedicated to the differences between the 2024 Hyundai Alcazar facelift and the old model. Alcazar, as you must already know, is the 6/7-seat iteration of the Creta. The inception of the Alcazar was premised upon the immense success of Creta in our market. Launched in 2021, the large SUV has already achieved over 75,000 sales. That is a testament to the demand and popularity of this moniker. I must admit the facelift was due for quite a while now. Finally, the second-largest carmaker in the country has opened bookings for the 2024 Hyundai Alcazar facelift at a token amount of Rs 25,000. Let us compare it with the soon-to-be old model.

2024 Hyundai Alcazar Facelift vs Old Model – Specs and Prices

The one thing that will remain unchanged will be the powertrain options. The new model will continue to be powered by a 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine making 160 PS and 253 Nm and a 1.5-litre turbo diesel mill which churns out a familiar 116 PS and 250 Nm of peak power and torque, respectively. There will be manual and automatic transmission options to choose from. These are the same engines which the Creta and the old model possess. At present, the Hyundai Alcazar ranges from Rs 16.77 lakh to Rs 21.28 lakh, ex-showroom. I expect the facelift version to bear a slight premium over these.

2024 Hyundai Alcazar Facelift vs Old Model – Design

The first aspect that we need to look at with the facelift model is the design. Now we know that the Alcazar carries most design elements from the Creta. Note that the new Creta just arrived in the Indian market at the beginning of this year. Ever since its launch, the speculations about the Alcazar based on the new Creta have been rife. Finally, we get the first glimpse of what the large SUV will look like. At the front, it bears a different enough fascia to tell it apart from the regular Creta. It still gets the characteristic design traits of the latest Hyundai cars such as the H-shaped LED DRLs and a quad-beam LED headlamps. The area which I am particularly excited about is the grille section. There are mostly horizontal elements which makes it completely distinguishable from the Creta.

This lends a distinct character to the SUV. Also, the sturdy skid plate underneath the front bumper takes its adventurous traits to a whole new level. On the sides, the new Alcazar gets a striking set of 18-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels. In fact, these are surrounded by black claddings and I also like the silver side skirtings on the door panels. The black window surrounds and ORVMs look cool too. Completing the sporty appearance are solid bridge-type roof rails and a large quarter glass for the third-row passengers. Finally, the new Alcazar even gets connected LED taillamps, a new tailgate, a new spoiler with an integrated stop lamp and a new bumper with a skid plate.

On the other hand, the existing Hyundai Alcazar bears the design characteristics of the old Creta. Hence, there is a large chrome-finished grille section with LED DRLs and a tri-beam headlamp setup on the extreme edges, a sporty bumper with LED fog lamps on the sides and a sturdy skid plate. On the sides, the alloy wheel design is different from its Creta counterpart. Even it gets the roof rails but these are not as hardcore as the new Alcazar. Also, there are no side skirtings on the door panels. At the rear, there are LED taillamps with a chrome slab connecting them. It is safe to conclude that the exterior of the new Alcazar will be completely different from the old model.

2024 Hyundai Alcazar Facelift vs Old Model – Features and Safety

Now the interior of the new 2024 Hyundai Alcazar facelift has not been revealed yet. Nevertheless, we know that it will get a 6- and 7-seat arrangements. The practicality and spacious cabin attributes will continue from the old model. Hyundai also mentions that there will be the latest tech, connectivity and convenience amenities to pamper the occupants. Furthermore, it will get 70+ connected car features to offer an ultra-modern experience. Apart from that, the 2024 Hyundai Alcazar facelift will possess over 40 standard safety features and over 70 total safety functionalities including ADAS active safety equipment. The SUV will come in 9 colour options including the new Robust Emerald Matte and four trims – Executive, Prestige, Platinum and Signature. The colour options include – Titan Grey Matte, Robust Emerald, Starry Night, Ranger Khaki, Fiery Red, Abyss Black, Atlas White, Atlas White (with black roof).

The 2024 Hyundai Alcazar facelift is bound to bring tons of aesthetic and feature changes to make sure that the customers remain drawn to the SUV. While the details about the new features remain scarce, it is clear that Hyundai knows what its buyers want. We have seen it in the new Creta.
