• Alfa Romeo included a teaser in the end of a “best of” video for 2024.
  • The teaser appears to show the lighting signature of the next-gen Stelvio.
  • The SUV will debut in 2025, followed by the new Giulia sedan in 2026.

Alfa Romeo said goodbye to 2024 with a “best of” video that included a little surprise at the end. The company appears to have shown the LED taillights of the next-gen Alfa Romeo Stelvio, which is expected to debut in mid-2025.

The continuous LED strip is shaped after the iconic Scudetto grille, covering a large area on the tailgate. Interestingly, this isn’t the first time Alfa Romeo uses the triangular pattern, which looks like a drastic evolution of the taillight graphics in the outgoing Giulia and Stelvio.

Besides the full-width taillights, we also have a hint about the front end of the upcoming SUV. Starting with the Junior that debuted earlier this year, all Alfa Romeo models will feature a shorter version of the Scudetto grille with 3D graphics inspired by Alfa’s emblem.

As confirmed by design boss Alejandro Mesonero-Romanos, future Alfas will also ditch the offset placement of the license plate, something that is required by pedestrian safety regulations.

Alfa Romeo Teases New Lighting Signature – Is It For The Next-Gen Stelvio?

The next generation of the Alfa Romeo Giulia and Stelvio will ride on the STLA Large platform which already underpins the new Dodge Charger. While company officials have only mentioned fully electric powertrains, given the current state of the industry, it is safe to assume that the Italian company will also offer versions with combustion engines, likely with some sort of hybrid assistance.

Earlier this year, former Alfa Romeo CEO Jean-Philippe Imparato suggested that the electric version of the Stelvio could produce up to 986 hp (735 kW / 1,000 PS), making it one of the most powerful SUVs on sale.

According to the latest reports, the new Stelvio will debut in summer 2025, with the mechanically-related Giulia following in 2026.
