In a significant move to improve road safety and traffic management, Hyundai Motor India Foundation (HMIF) has inaugurated Gurugram’s first Traffic Engineering Centre and Organization Development Centre. Situated within the DCP’s office in Gurugram, Haryana, this state-of-the-art facility introduces advanced technology to streamline traffic monitoring and enforcement.
Tech-Driven Traffic Management
The Traffic Engineering Centre is a game-changer for the city’s road safety measures. Armed with cutting-edge tools, the center can monitor feeds from 1,100 cameras across 218 junctions from a centralized hub. Traffic Police can access live feeds from up to 25 cameras simultaneously, ensuring quicker responses to incidents and smoother traffic flow. Beyond just monitoring, the system is designed to analyze accident causes, detect faults in infrastructure, and provide actionable recommendations for improvement.
Speaking at the inauguration of the Traffic Engineering Centre, Mr. Unsoo Kim, Managing Director – HMIL, said, “At Hyundai Motor India Foundation, we are committed to improving road safety through our ‘Easy Roads’ initiative. The launch of the first-ever Traffic Engineering Centre in Gurugram, Haryana, marks a significant milestone in this journey. By leveraging cutting edge technology, we aim to reduce accidents, improve driver behavior, and create a safer, more efficient transportation ecosystem for the citizens of the city. I am confident that through our collective efforts, this Traffic Engineering Centre will emerge as a model facility that can be emulated across the nation, making our roads safer for all.”
