  • Milan-based Garage Italia Customs has created a cheeky rendering of the Porsche 992.2.
  • The imaginative 911 Jaws Edition pokes fun at the shark-like gills on the bumper.
  • This shark-themed design features a fin, shark teeth decals, Jaws graphics, and a large rear wing.

Over its 60-year run, the Porsche 911 has seen its design evolve while stubbornly clinging to its iconic shape. Yet, not all changes have been welcomed with open arms. The “fried egg” headlights of the 996 generation drew fierce backlash from enthusiasts for straying from tradition.

Fast forward to the latest 992.2, and its the bumper intakes that have rubbed some enthusiasts the wrong way. This has led Milan-based Garage Italia Customs to take a jab (or should we say a bite?) at the design with a Jaws-themed photo that playfully emphasizes the car’s shark-like features.

The render is based on the 2025 Porsche 911 GTS introduced earlier this year. The design of the bumper intakes bears a strong resemblance to shark gills, although Porsche paints them black in the production model.

Garage Italia Customs leaned into the theme, decked out the 2025MY 911 in a gray and white livery, and added shark teeth decals on the windshield, a fin on the roof, and a rear wing that would make any shark envious. To top it off, the red lettering features Jaws director Steven Spielberg’s name on the side windows, while the retro Fuchs wheels nod to the original film’s 1975 release.

Garage Italia Customs shared the creation on Instagram, stating: “In addition to the introduction of a hybrid system, the 911 Carrera GTS, unveiled a few months ago, sparked a lot of discussion for the inclusion of movable vertical blades in front air intakes. To us, they looked very much like the gills of a shark. We couldn’t miss the opportunity to create this JAWS-themed concept. What do you think?”

Specializing in vehicle customization and bespoke liveries, Garage Italia was founded by Lapo Elkann, grandson of former Fiat head Gianni Agnelli, and brother of Ferrari chairman John Elkann. Elkann, known for his eccentric style, resigned as president of Garage Italia in 2021, shortly after the firm was sold to Swiss company Youngtimers AG.

The last time we heard about Garage Italia Customs is when they unveiled the Alfa Romeo Spider Duetto Hybrid restomod back in 2024. The one-off is still listed for sale on the company’s official website, suggesting that buyers have yet to expressed their interest in the build.

The studio has also created many versions of the Fiat 500 and Abarth 595 hatchbacks with fancy wraps and unique styling touches. Lately, they seem to be more focused in renderings and throwback posts than new projects.
