Hyundai Venue is among the most popular compact SUVs in the country and is due for a thorough upgrade
The next-gen Hyundai Venue has finally been spotted for the first time ever. The existing model is a mid-life version of the compact SUV. It was updated in mid-2024. Hence, it has already been over two years without any significant change. If online news reports are to be believed, we will get the next-gen model next year. However, it will only make it to our shores by 2026. That sure seems a long time in the future. In any case, let us glance at the details of the recent spy shots.
Next-Gen Hyundai Venue Spotted
The visuals of the heavily camouflaged Hyundai Venue stem from Healer TV on YouTube. The host has spotted the compact SUV at a parking lot somewhere in South Korea. Unsurprisingly, the entire SUV is wrapped under a heavy covering. Still, we are able to deduce a few design elements. For instance, the front grille looks massively tweaked and the split-LED headlamp cluster looks modern. Also, the LED DRLs have the same position as on the current-gen model. At the rear, we see the LED taillamps, while the rear section showcases a new pattern and design for the alloy wheels. Even the ORVMs bear a sporty appearance. Hence, it is clear that the next-gen Hyundai Venue will be significantly different from the current model.
Apart from that, the interior will also bear loads of alterations including a new layout and the addition of the latest tech and convenience amenities. However, I believe the one area which won’t likely see any changes is what lies under the hood. It will most likely get the same 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol, 1.5-litre turbo diesel and a 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine along with manual and automatic transmission options. Hence, the buyers will get a wide choice to pick according to their requirements. More details will emerge as the launch nears.
My View
The next-gen Hyundai Venue will have to face fierce competition in the compact SUV space from the likes of the Maruti Brezza, Tata Nexon, Kia Sonet and Mahindra XUV3XO. This is one of the most brutally competitive spaces in our market. Hence, carmakers need to put their best foot forward to cater to a large audience and gain their trust. The Venue has done it quite impressively until now. Going forward, it will be interesting to see how well things pan out. I shall bring you further developments in this regard.
